The Pulling Down Of Strongholds

{2 Corinthians 10:3-5}

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh"

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds"

"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteh itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ"

I would like to share a story with you today. I was driving in my car yesterday and I noticed on my left side mirror, a spiders web and inside the web was a spider hanging on for dear life. I was going about 60 miles an hour on the highway when I first noticed this poor little spider. The wind was blowing the web, but it never harmed the spider nor the web. I thought to myself, "Boy this web sure has a strong hold on my car." Talking about something hitting your spirit, it sure did mine. The good Lord above brought this to my heart yesterday. The devil has his strong holds on people. He is hanging on with everything he has. Strong holds of bitterness, hate, envy, strife and anything else he can use. As I stopped at a red light, I reached into my glove box and got a napkin out, I rolled down my window and with just one touch of my hand, I tore down the spider and it's web. It held on with everything it had until I chose to do something about it. It was a ugly looking sight and I didn't want it tagging along with me. The devil's strong holds are ugly to our spiritual life. The devil brings these strongholds to our mind and there it hangs on for dear life. If we are not careful, the thoughts in our mind will turn into bitterness in our heart and then that is when real spiritual warfare has to take place in order to be free. When we first have a thought of anything wrong come into our mind, right then and there is the time to tear it down. I had to take my hand and tear down that web in the natural, but spiritually, we have to tear down our strong hold with the word of God. We are in the flesh, but we don't battle in the flesh, we battle in the spirit. What are our real weapons against the devil? And make no mistake about it, Paul says there is a devil, that is our adversary and he comes to destroy us. Our weapons are from God. They are therefore mighty and strong enough to PULL DOWN the strongholds of Satan. We have faith to cast out of our own mind every evil or negative imagination and to bring into captivity every thought that does not honor God. We have that faith and we are to put our faith on winning OVER the devil. Yes, by our faith, we can control our imaginations and our thoughts. We do it by lining up our imaginations and thoughts with the word of God and by speaking forth the word of faith over the devil and his web that he tries to trap us in. It amazes me how our loving Savior uses little things, like a spider's web to relate what we can do in the spiritual to tear down the enemy's hold on us. We don't have to let the devil tag along in our life. God has given us the power to overcome him and all his sneaky ways to trap us, but PRAISE THE LORD, WE HAVE THE VICTORY THROUGH AND BY JESUS CHRIST!!!!

Dear Lord, we pray today for any one who may be battling the strong hold of the enemy. We pray that they will take your word and use the faith you have given them, to tear down every thought and every web that may have come to trap them. We pray Dear Lord that you set your people free and may we all walk in victory and in obedience only to you and to your holy word. May all thoughts be thoughts of love and peace, which is in you Dear Jesus. We thank you for what you have shown to us through a little spider and  it's web. Your lessons in life are precious to us and for that Dear Lord, we are thankful. We praise you for all things great and small in our life today. Save the lost, renew and restore your people, so we can be a vessel of honor for you. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen!
