The Promise Of Peace

{Isaiah 26:3}

"Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusts in thee"

{Psalms 29:11}

"The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace"

Peace is a gift from God. God's very name and character guarantee that he can give the promised peace. He graciously wants to bestow this on us. But everything has a price. Peace is no exception. It cannot be bought with money, yet a high price was paid for it. It cost Someone his life. The Son of God died on a cross in order that there would be peace between God and people. He died to reconcile people one with another and with themselves. Peace is given to those who want to accept it and who meet its conditions. Peace can never be separated from a personal relationship with God. There is so much change going on in the world today and men seek to find peace, but they look in the wrong places. When we have our trust in Jesus, no matter what may go on around us, we have a sense of security and by this, we are not threatened by the change we see happening. In all you do, in all you go through, in all good and bad situations in your life, may the peace of God always rest upon you. 

Dear heavenly Father, thank you today for the promise of peace. Thank you for sending your dear Son to die on a cross so we can have this gift. Thank you for all the times you have gave this heart of mine the peace it needed. We pray for any one who may need to feel your peace today in a special way. Wrap your loving arms around them and speak the words, "Peace Be Still" to their storm. We praise you for all things and for the love you show to us each and every day, in Jesus name, Amen.
